The last time I hunkered down to write something on here gas was going for $2.55, it was safe to make Haiti jokes, and nobody would’ve ever thought James Cameron’s 3D remake of FernGully: The Last Rain Forest would be hailed as one of the best films of all time. Scary no?

But here we are and that’s the world we live in. I dunno about you, the faithful reader, but I’ve been quite busy lately. There’s work, after work social sports team practices, sleeping, and a lot of other stuff that just crowds the time. For a while the 7x7 just seemed to be something cool to talk about with friends but not something that I was actively pursuing. What a crock. This list, like so many before it (the Ten Commandments, the 95 Theses, Schindler’s, the Time 100, The Rolling Stone Top 500, etc.) was created for a serious and life-changing purpose: to live adventurously, fully, and purposefully!

Shame on me.

Through any number of incidents and circumstances it’s become clear that life is no dress rehearsal. Therefore it’s time to narrow the gaze and focus on what’s important. For me that’s Faith, Family, Friends, growing in wisdom and discernment, discovering the beauty of this world, laughter, and ensuring everyone gets a fair shot at a little bit of happiness for themselves.

By my count I’ve got 5.5 years to accomplish 4 more goals:

1. save 10,000 dollars
2. Parent Project.
3. story, play, or screenplay
6. travel to all the “A” continents

Time to stop waiting through this one opportunity.
